YOPA The Original will be donating a portion of its profits to KARAF, which will hopefully turn into a full fledged organization some day; an organization that will promote healthy activities in a safe environment. At the moment funds will be accumulating from profits for a charitable giving fund. The fund will contribute to institutions, clubs, associations, etc…that are already in existence, providing safe havens for “at risk” young children and teens.

What does “at risk” mean?

Kids are “at risk” when their circumstances in life aren’t safe for them. They are “at risk” when their environments might lead them to become gang members, drug users, drop outs, etc… Kids exposed to negative, destructive behaviors such as drug/alcohol use/abuse and domestic violence, kids that are neglected and left unsupervised are all ‘at risk”.

Financially fortunate kids have opportunities to keep busy with extracurricular activities during the school year and camp activities during the summer months. Wouldn’t it be great if all kids had the opportunity to participate in the same activities?

It takes a tremendous amount of effort, expertise and expense to establish quality facilities for the kids. KARAF is a start for YOPA to help make a difference.
